Hi, I'm Jaymain
I am a Person-Centred counsellor, which means that my approach and sessions are shaped to suit each client's unique needs.
The idea of counselling can be daunting, as can finding a therapist, so I offer a free 20 - 30 minute session to see if my approach meets your needs.
I work with children, young people and adults, and I offer sessions online, via telephone and in-person, including walk & talk. Clients can choose from having short term, long term, or single session therapy.
Some of the issues clients talk about include bereavement & loss, anxiety, depression, stress, identity, relationships, and historic abuse

Jaymain Parkes (MBACP)
My life experience and personal therapy journey played a huge part in my decision to become a counsellor.
From a young age and into adulthood, life sent some pretty challenging issues my way, but at the time, counselling was not something I would have considered as I held such a negative view of therapy, and therapists.
I imagined being judged, misunderstood, and part of me felt that getting help was a sign of weakness. I also thought that my problems were so big that talking wouldn't make a difference. Clearly something changed my mind.
As you take this step from whatever situation or stage of life you are in, I want to say that there are no guarantees, but I believe that if this was possible for me, it is possible for my clients.
