Hi, I'm Jaymain
I am a Person-Centred counsellor which means that my approach and sessions are shaped to suit each client's unique needs.
The idea of counselling can be daunting, as can finding a therapist, so I offer a free 20 - 30 minute session to see if my approach meets your needs.
I work with children, young people and adults, and I offer sessions online, via telephone and in-person, including walk & talk. Clients can choose from having short term, long term, or single session therapy.
Some of the issues I have supported clients with include anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement & loss, identity, relationships, historic abuse, life changing events including illness, and the impact of caring for others.

Jaymain Parkes (MBACP)
Personal experience, life experience & work experience all contributed to my decision to become a therapist.
From a young age and into adulthood, life brought some pretty challenging issues my way but at the time, counselling was not something I would have considered as I held such a negative view of therapy, and therapists.
I was concerned about being judged, misunderstood, and part of me saw getting help meant I was weak. I also thought that my problems were so big that talking wouldn't help. Clearly something changed my mind.
As you take this step from whatever space, situation or stage of life you are in, I want to say that there are no guarantees, but I believe that if this was possible for me, it is possible for my clients.
